Spring Term 2022 //

Yet another fabulous term here in year two! All the children have worked super hard and we have had a lot of fun whilst doing it!

English //

This term we have been learning all about the Great Barrier Reef and how to write a good piece of non-fiction text. Next we were introduced to the African Savannah and the Amazon Rain Forest. Looking at what life would be like as a Lion cub and how we could expertly describe all the things we saw. Finally we met our new friend Sunny. He wrote use lot of letters about his adventure, maybe when we are all back from our holidays we could reply.

Maths //

Everyone has been on fire this half term! We have cover multiplication (2’s, 5’s & 10’s), division, statistics, properties of shapes and basic fractions. We also practised our maths SAT’s arithmetic and reasoning papers, which went well.

Reading //

All the children have come on leaps and bounds this term. Progressing through the phonics groups and nailing their inference and retrieval skills. We have done a lot of practise SAT’s papers and they have actually been good fun!

Autumn Term 2021 //

We have had an absolute blast in year two this term! We have learnt loads and had an awful lot of fun.

Phonics - I have been super impressed with all the children so far this year. They have all completed our national phonics assessment and are all progressing well with Read Write Inc.

English - They have recapped and learnt so many new skills this year. Looking at our year one and two non- negotiables, conjunctions, nouns, adjectives, time sentences starters, descriptive language, filtering important information, simple suffixes and so much more.

Math's - During the term they have looked at place value, adding, subtracting, money, simple multiplication and basic division.
